    These formula one cars were more like drag racing cars in comparison to the machinery of today. Point in a straight line out of the corner and wait for the turbo lag and eventual massive power.

    It is interesting we are coming full circle after the exhaust blown diffuser era.

    Also modern Le mans prototypes are catching Formula one rather quickly.

    villeneuve said the grip from ground effect had ruined f1, this was in '82...

    imagine how disgusted he would be with contemporary f1

    Why would you, mate? When I see a car on screen, I want to hear the sound of that car and that car only and not random cars happening to blast down the start/straight at the same time on top. Has been annoying me since I started watching F1 (20+ years).

    I just like it. It adds to the atmosphere for me.
