Hi, just a quick question. I've Been accepted onto an nhs msc programme at Kings,London, and my occupational health check has come back. It's asking me to contact the nurse to discuss my details. I've had a previous suicide attempt (about 8 years ago) but with my medication I am perfectly stable. Is this just a formality? Will I still be able to do the course!? And what kinds of things may I have to clarify? I wrote everything pretty detailed on the forms.

    Hi,

I am doing Nursing at Kings this September and have had my Occupational Health already. I have a history of mental health illness and was contacted before the appointment too. Its normally to confirm the details and book a GP appointment with a Occupational health doctor. They were really good and as they said to me Kings are leaders in Mental Health research and treatment. I can not comment on the suicide attempt, but I think they are more concerned with how you will manage and what support they can offer. As you said you have been on meds and stable for 8 years so I would say don't worry and just be open and honest with the doctor. They were really nice and i am sure you will be OK. Good Luck.

Hi, thank you. I just rang and they said the info I gave them over the phone should be enough to give me clearance!

I just got an email from the uni asking me to make an appointment with an OH nurse. Do you think everything is ok, is this normal? And is there any way I can get this done over the phone or with a more local nurse, as I'm going to struggle to get to London before I have to move there closer to my course date.

Booked an appointment and I'm really nervous. Do I have anything to worry about? This is all I've ever wanted, I'm stable, and willing to comply with any conditions they have.
