Hi there, I was wondering if any of you had advice for me in this situation.

firstly I'm currently living in Edinburgh and have accepted a place at Glasgow university starting in September. I got rejected by Edinburgh which was my first choice but I am very happy to be going to Glasgow nonetheless.

however I do have a few queries about how to fund the obvious travel obligations this will give me. My SAAS application is giving me the fees and the minimum loan (£4000) but I just wondered if, due to my circumstances (it is simply not possible for me to move at the moment due to living commitments and family issues) if I would be entitled to any kind of travel support.

if someone could give me an answer to point me in the direction of one I'd be most grateful.

No unfortunately there are no extra loans for travel, the SAAS loan is there for you to use how you see fit e.g. for accommodation or travel. Honestly if £4000 wont' cover your travel then I'd consider looking to defer until you can move away.

I'm having to go to Glasgow from a small island, and even with that I've been told there's no travel support :-( I'd be spending 10 hours a day travelling if I stayed at home haha, I got told I could maybe get a grant if there was a family emergency at home but as far as I know, there's no offers for travel expenses
