Hi, I currently work at a local butchers and have done for the past 18 monts (ever since I turned 16) however I'm only on £4 and only get Saturday shifts because they are close Sundays. I work 8-6 every Saturday but want to know anywhere that pays well where I can do shifts Saturday, Sunday and even Friday nights as I am in 6th form 5 days a week. A few of my mates have what I perceive as well paid jobs for our age £6 something at Nandos and £8 something at the local hospital. Other examples but can't think of any, I've applied to these however there are no more vacancies available

A lot of bigger business will pay 16/17 year olds the minimum wage for 18-21 so £5, you might even get a few who do everyone on 21+ so £6.30. I'd guess the hospital is paying living wage to everyone which is £7-8.

If you aren't busy then apply to everywhere in your area. You're experience in retail and customer service so hand your CV into every shop you can reasonably get to. For the chains check their website. If you get an interview then (if not applying in response to an ad) it's entirely acceptable to ask hours, rate of pay etc but don't make it your only questions as it will seem all you are interested in.

Depending on your current boss' attitude you might want to say to them you are considering leaving, they might put you onto £5 before you are 18 if they want to keep you
