Hi all. The job I am currently working involves a lot of site visit to derelict buildings and photo documenting. No doubt the office has its own super-duper digital camera (Coolpix S9500 and a SLR I cannot remember what make it is), but they always got checked out by someone else. So I am now considering buying my own.

Having said that, as it is literally my own money, I do not intend to buy the same quality to match. In fact, I am looking for something easy to operate, something like Coolpix (or similar) instead of a proper SLR. Price range 75quid to 150quid. Minimum 16 MP.

Derelict building is, as you can imagine, dark, so I am looking for a digital camera with strong flash.

If the price range is not realistic to get what I want, feel free to say, I can always up my budget.

Why 'minimum 16 MP'? In addition to the fact that the megapixel hype is ridiculous enough already, this is even more detrimental when taking pictures with little available light.

Flash probably won't be the best thing to use, a tripod and slower shutter speeds may be better, if it's really dark you could use that in conjunction with a torch. This is how most urban exploration photography is done, which sounds very much like your job.

you will not get a powerful flash unit itself for 75 to 100 quid. tripod + decent torch etc is the way to go about it. look into the led lenser torches if you want something decent.
