Hello! (Before you read, I know, I'm an idiot)

The problem I have is that I had forgotten that we didn't have a key for one of the bedroom doors, so I shut the door behind me as I usually do. All of my stuff was in there, including phone, laptop, wallet, etc, so I had no way to contact my landlord. Only thing I had left to do was to force the door down. I managed it but there's now a huge split in the door frame, however the door still shuts, and the door still locks (You can unlock it from the inside). The split is visible, and the frame is slightly loose when you push the door from the outside to open it, and I worry with a little more force the door frame may come off completely along the split.

I know there is a very small chance that we can get the landlord to fix it without any cost affect on us, and I'd rather not have to pay for a dodgy worker to come out and fix it for us and say he has to replace the whole thing etc etc, so does anyone have any advice on how to fix it etc and what they've done to avoid their landlord finding out?

    Cheers!
