there's a netto somewhere.

Depends where you're living and how far you're prepared to travel.

The only supermarkets I've been to are

Morrisons - which is just down the road from uni, but looks like something that time forgot and I hate it in there

Asda - a bus ride into headingley, near Oxley halls. Alright, but a bit of a trek to take all my stuff back on the bus.

I order online from Tescos now.

I'm used to shopping in places like Lidl and Aldi so it's going to be a bit of a shock if I have to start shopping at Sainsbury's or something.

What cheap/good value supermarkets are there in Leeds?

Oooh and do they have a Home Bargains/Quality Save? That shop is genius.

Depends where you're living. Netto is in Seacroft, but it's a trek and probably not worth it. Lidl is in Gipton, best left to streetwise professionals that one. There's an Aldi in Meanwood, which is a possibility and one on the Beeston ring-road, which isn't.

You'll probably end up in Morrisons though, in the soon to be reclad Merrion Centre. Rumour has it that Sainsburys or Tesco express will open in the old Lewis's building on the Headrow sometime next year. With the growing city centre population, there's bound to be a few more opening.

This is such a great idea - wish I'd thought of this! :p:
I adore Aldi and Lidl.

Another cool supermarket, although only in Germany, is PennyMarkt, sooo cool!

There's an Aldi somewhere in Leeds, I went! Morrisons is rubbish too. Grrr.

I'm going to have to find it. I have a habit of getting used to low prices and then not paying any more even if I have to because I know they're cheaper elsewhere. DAMN MY CHEAPNESS!

I can only eat Beans and Sausages from Nettos! Urgh, I hate Heniz Beans. Bah! Ill be sure shopping on the cheap! I mean, come on, the less money you spend on food, the more you have for alcohol, right? Lol.
on kirkstall rd theres a morrisons (which is far better than the city centre one - i used to work in there and it pissed me off knowing that everyone hated the place but still came in all the time grr). on that same road there also a netto and an iceland.

im sure you could find out on their websites tho, if u really want to!

Thank you
There are actually 3 Nettos that I know if in Leeds, the Seacroft one as somebody already mentioned, also there's one on Kirkstall Road - just 1 bus stop past the Warner Village (well it used to be called the Warner Village anyway....dunno if it's still called that....where Hollywood Bowl is and Vue cinema). That is the biggest Netto - I go there regularly.
and the third Netto is in Meanwood, just across the road from Aldi.

Other than that, as people have already said, there's Aldi in Meanwood (see above), and Lidl in Gipton. I go to both but then again I have a car.

Other supermarkets that I know of are:

ASDA in Headingley
ASDA on York Road next to Killingbeck Cemetary
ASDA in Pudsey

Tesco on Roundhay Road
Tesco EXTRA kinda next to York Road type thing (bit hard to explain)
there's a very small TESCO in Crossgates shopping centre

Morrisons in town - Merrion Centre
Morrisons on Kirkstall Road

Sainsburys on King Lane, Moortown

Safeway in Oakwood

Kwik Save in Harehills

and I find it very highly unlikely that you will be shopping here, but there's a Marks & Spencers in town, and there's a smaller one in Moortown (Moortown corner parade, next to The Bull pub).

I'm sure there's more supermarkets in Leeds but those are the only ones that are coming to me off the top of my head.

Oh yeh, just remembered there's a supermarket in Chapel Allerton aswell but I can't remember which one it is....it USED to be Kwik Save but it got changed many years ago. Think it's Somerfield but don't quote me on it.

Also there's an Iceland on Kirkstall Road next to Netto, and another one in Harehills next to Kwik Save.

So? You don't have to like it do you. And if you do I'd be worried. You can't deny what I wrote :p:
