I've attempted subordinating conjunction in the sentences below with a coma. Is it a right, or incorrect? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you.

    1) After going to the shops, I had realised I had forgotten the key ingredient.

    2) Because Sarah was badly injured, She could no longer participate in the race.

    3) Whenever I use a comma, I always get confused.

    4) Since we're cooking, we should really try to make a cake.

    1. This is correct.

    2. To start a sentence with a conjunction is classed as grammatically incorrect. It could be "Since Sarah was badly injured, she could no longer participate in the race" or something like that just starting with "Sarah was badly injured, therefore she..." . "Since" in this case is used a preposition and not as a conjunction, the same as 4.

    3. A comma isn't really needed here. You can either leave it or take it out.

    4. Is correct.

Seems great! As the above poster said though, don't start sentences with 'Because'. Also you're not posting it in the right section!
