After results day when you get your confirmation letter from UCAS. You will need this letter to get the account
So around then should be fine, I think it starts working quickly, if not straight away

Do they (banks) open student accounts regardless of credit history? OR they check it? Is it possible to apply for a student account online?

Possible bigger overdraft though. I'm with natwest atm and they're great but the student account is awful!

I've had a student bank account since February with Barclays, all I needed was my letter from the university with my offer on it I have an overdraft of £200 at the moment but when your student loan comes in it can be raised up to £2000. So depending on what bank you go with, depends on when you can open one I suppose.

    Thanks.

I have already a normal visa debit card - current account. Does student account give any extra benefit?
