Did the Provisional IRA fight with any gangsters or organised crime? Like the Real IRA have done which lead to the death of Alan Ryan? Since I have only heard of one incident where a criminal was shot by the Provisional IRA in the early 90's. Is this all happening because some of the members of the splinter republican groups are in it for monetary gain rather than political ideology thus this puts them into direct conflict with gangsters and organised crime over areas such as drug dealing and extortion etc?
