Movie Madness is an event pitting 64 films against each other in a tournament where only one will triumph (to find out more, click here).
Who will progress to the next round? You decide.

    The Green Mile (1999)
"There is a temptation with Frank Darabont's "The Green Mile" to bill it as an inferior follow-up to "The Shawshank Redemption". After all, Darabont directed both, and they're both directed by Stephen King, and are prison dramas. However, do not be fooled. A simply, lyrical yet involving tale that spreads itself nicely over a comfortable three hour running time that never seems exorbitant, it takes strong and developed characters and places them in scenarios funny, scary, thrilling. Tackling no less than the themes of life and death, this is a film that no true lover of film should miss. It's a splendid entertainment, and also one of Tom Hank's signature roles. ."

    Fight Club (1999)
Considered a flop on it's initial release due to incredibly poor marketing by 20th Century Fox, David Fincher's classic would have to wait several years to be appreciated as a success. Based on the book by Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club spoke for a generation that felt emasculated and without a place. Ed Norton and Brad Pitt give sensational performances as a duo that shrug off modern life to recreate their own brand of chaos in the world.

I'm not the biggest fan of Fight Club, and would have voted against it had 12 Angry Men got through, but it gets my vote.

I only watched fight club for the first time a few weeks ago but i really really enjoyed it and recommend that if you haven't seen it you definitely should. I was expecting a fairly action-y film with no brain logic applied but i was completely wrong. A very interesting and dark film with lots of layers to it.

After that ending, no spoilers please anyone, i really want to rewatch the whole thing as well.

What a wonderful favourite film to have. It's not personally one of my favourites, but I actually prefer it to Shawshank and it's one of the shortest seeming three-hour films I've seen

    Vote Fight club!

It's winning by 16 votes already so already has this round so doesn't reallly matter!
