    Hello all!

okay so first things first, I am a complete fool. I was convinced I wanted to go to uni come September, however I now realise that I need to take a year out. Therefore I want to take a gap year. However I have limited skills - ie I only speak English and only have limited skills in matters such as practical skills - and have no idea what it is I can do. Therefore I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of:

    (a) a website that specialises in English speaking au pairs - ie I am happy to go anywhere but can only speak English so am looking for families who can accommodate that.

    (b) work opportunities in the US; this is where I was planning to spend a year au pairing but you have to work a full year, provide 200 hours worth of proof of childcare and is hard to get a visa. However any general work opportunities would be greatly appreciated.

    (c) ideas - anything, please?

To clarify I am planning to go to uni (maybe even to exeter if they will let me defer or I reapply) but I need this year out. Any help would be greatly appreciated and ASAP if possible because I am having a major panic. Thanks!

I used "aupair-world.net", which is great! You can add a lot of detail to your profile and native english speakers are in great demand, if not there are always agencies, but I prefer the freedom that comes with sites like aupair-world.net. Good luck!
