My friend recently used this term to describe people who leave their graduate positions after 1 year. IMO I wouldn't want to hire a 'bouncer' because they seem unreliable?

But she explained its common, and actually they can be desirable - because they 'know' what they want and they have 'experience' in finance already.

    What are your opinions?

They normally go to the buy side after 1-3 years. The buy side loves them as the firm's don't have official training programs (more of on the job learning) , the "bouncers" are also already trained through the graduate schemes from the sell side too, so they are ready to jump into tasks. Win win situation as graduates receive a slightly higher pay and saves time and money for the buy side firms
