Everyone says they really enjoy university but after the first year it's just been really crap. Freshers wasn't fun, it was mainly just clubbing and then I made friends with people I'm not very similar with because they were similar to my flatmates and now I'm living with them next year which I'm really not looking forward to. I really enjoy my course but I hate the social aspect. I really don't want to go back as I've had so much more fun with my family and friends at home. Help me please, I am so worried about next year!

Join societies, there's no one in lectures who shares common interests with you or seminars and stuff? Not even a few good people you connect with in your flats? What social activities have you participated in? If all fails the last option could be commuting but I dont think thats a great idea, (unless ofcourse you really want to , and believe it suits you)

Its only first year, I heard that ''first year friends are very temporary'' and you speak to very few them in 2nd and 3rd year. Don't give up hope just yet

remember why you wanted to go to university in the first place.
the social aspect is a huge part of uni but at the end of the day you're there to get a degree.
try and join some societies and stuff then at least you can say to yourself that tried even if you decide going out isn't for you.
