    Hi all

I have had a conditional offer from a Aviation academy who requires Function Skills Level 2 or equivalent grade C.

I have passed my Level 1 Maths but failed to pass my Level 2 on both resits. The academy has stated that they want me to do a short online maths exam to demonstrate what my maths is like. Maths has never been my strong point.

The test is in 4 weeks

Does anyone have any advice on how to get the best possible result from this small online test ?. The test will cover Level 1, Level 2 and some Level 3 questions. They are based on City and Guilds exams.

My academy place may be at jeopardy if I don't get a decent result on this exam.

All maths exams are best prepared for by practicing. Are there any past papers available to you? If not, perhaps find some city and guilds exams or even just some general level 2 and 3 papers (ideally with mark schemes). Sit down with a paper in front of you and complete it without interruption, then take a break. Go back and mark the exam, and repeat any questions you got wrong.

If you notice common faults, consider writing flash cards so you memorise when to use certain methods. And of course, if you get stuck then post your question in the study help forums and someone should be able to explain it to you.
