Hi I was just wondering what sort of equipment/resources are available through DSA?

I have been told to apply by the uni and it has been explained by the uni that I will have an assessment however, I just wanted a brief idea of what is available as many people don't understand/know my illness and I don't want to be provided with unnecessary help or miss out on help which I need.

    Tanks in advance

It depends what help you need. It may be things like a note taker, extra time in exams, modified exam papers, laptop with software to help you study, (screen reader, mind mapping software, speech-to-ext software) etc.

I suffer with pain in fingers, toes, hands and feet. Constant pins and needles and numbness in arm and legs caused by nerve damage. DSA may be able to provide course related equipment and software, and a computer to access it. They may be able to provide support with note taking too, but often not when lectures are missed. It can't be used to support stuff like getting someone up as this falls to social services provision. They may suggest that a reasonable adjustment is for your uni to provide some flexibility in accessing the course but if this is deemed not possible they may reject the recommendation.
