Can anyone suggest any good books to read?

Would be cool to read something with either:
    - a jungle / islands with tribes, witch doctors, chieftans n stuff
    - Germania / Gaul, barbarians n stuff
    - Fantasy and adventuring

Well I was thinking more like, game of thrones, Lotr type stuff but set way back in barbarian times. Or set in a tropical environment with different tribes n stuff.

LOTR made me fall asleep within about 50 pages. Really could not do it. I'm sure I can think of something I enjoyed that matches your taste though...

Lord Of The Flies is set in a tropical environment and it kind of splits into different groups/tribes.

Are you sure you didn't read the abridged version?

Here's a definition of abridged for you, considering you almost certainly don't know what it means.

    abridge
    əˈbrɪdʒ/
    verb
past tense: abridged; past participle: abridged
    1.
shorten (a book, film, speech, etc.) without losing the sense.
"an abridged text of his speech"
