Hey, I am studying English Language and Media at the University of Brighton. I have just finished my first year and have got all my module grades back and as I already knew from my results in January I failed my first exam. The mark was 30% and I was very unhappy but in all honesty I was not only dealing with family issues but unsure If I was enjoying the course so wasn't very motivated at the time. In Semester two I started enjoying the course more and achieved decent grades in all other modules. I'm really worried I'm going to be made to retake the whole year because of this one module. Does anyone know more on this or can let me know of what might happen? Freaking out a little here. Thank you :-)

As far as I know, they'll usually just defer you and ask you to just resit what you failed. Is there an option to simply resit that one exam?

I'm pretty sure if you failed one exam they wouldn't make you resit the whole year - just the exam!
