Does it make sense to not hire someone in a job they been doing for a year on contract, and than after interview stage for that position being posted being told they havent got the job because they did'nt do well at interview?

But then be allowed to carry working there for another few weeks before they hire someone who has not done that kinda work before take over your position?

Consdiering also his other colleagues who have been working there on contract have been given the job's.
Yes. They either hire the right person for the job, or the cheapest.
