So today I received an E-Mail about paying the deposit in the next 48 hours after choosing my room, I'm receiving the money through a direct payment to my bank from a family member due to not being able to afford it. So here's my questions/worries

    1) If the money doesn't come in on time can I get another opportunity to pick a room

    2) Do I get that deposit back at all?

    3) Isn't it a bit ridiculous that on top of the 9,000 per year and the food/books payments they charge this on top of it, surely it should come out of the loan we get to spend for food ETC?

You would need to ask the uni or accommodation provider. Deposits are usually refundable if you leave the room in good condition but youd need to check - it may be a first payment rather than something you get back

    1) Depends on the university
    2) Yes if you leave the room in a good condition
    3) No, accommodation is separate from tuition costs, the true tuition cost is more than £9000 especially Science courses and this deposit is as protection if tenants damage any property.
