Hi, I would like to properly learn how to swim. I've had swimming lessons in primary school and the odd swim session but I've never been confident with it.

Will the UEA swim team accept me on their team or not? I also wear glasses which is a bother!

    thanks.

    Hello,

It’s great to hear that you’re already thinking about which sports clubs to join. UEA allows anyone to join a sports club or society regardless of their level of ability (beginner’s level is available in pretty much every club!). Sports clubs are also very sociable so there will be a great community feel and lots of support for you as a new member.

I’d recommend going to the SportsMart which is a massive sports fair where all the different sports clubs have stalls for students to go round and ask questions about joining. This happens during the Welcome Week and it would be a great opportunity for you to have a chat with the Swimming Club.

Also if you’re really keen to practise your swimming skills then you could independently swim at the UEA Sportspark. There are lots of sessions available and you may want to ask someone about any support that is available there to help you improve your swimming.

    Hope that helps
