Personally, I think guys act like lads as women are more likely to have a ONS with a lad, they might not be relationship material (that goes for the 'lads' and the girls that sleep with them) but doesn't matter had sex.

Wouldn't have sex with a "lad" anyway, so it's pretty pointless as most girls will think "what an idiot"

Most girls will refuse to tell you this but they will have sex with a "lad" and then comain to the lovely amiable hardworking and decent chap that they have been used. I'm not quite sure why, perhaps they like to be dominated and not treated as an equal by the domesticated and educated man. Please note "most girls" in this context is my subjective view of experiences I have witnessed and in no way reflects the overall populous of the female gender.

You asked for opinions, I gave it.

And whether you find me attractive or not doesn't really bother me, as guys who post on forums with "pussy" in their username aren't really my type

what the **** is a lad - please please please!!
    Don't know if serious but...
"A lad is a male who specialises in creating and distributing exquisite banter. Though most lads are youngish (late teens and early twenties) age is not a defining characteristic and you will find both young lads and old lads. Some special skills of lads include, but are not limited to the following:

    - Binning Pints
    - Exposing genitalia and getting naked in public places
    - Throwing up after copious alcohol consumption
    - Spousal Abuse
    - Getting kicked out of pubs/nightclubs for being overly offensive

Excelling in all areas will earn a lad the title of "top lad". There is no higher praise that can be bequeathed upon an individual." -urban dictionary

    Is this a genuine question?

Best definition is a beer monster!!11!1 who likes a bit of bantz, pretends to be gay after drinking and does other wacky stuff like drinking piss, spanking the other lads with pool cues, stealing traffic cones and taking them home, setting their profile pictures to a pic of them wearing a Borat mankini. ****ing mental this lot.

Haha  I was hoping it was some sort of sarcasm :/ because aiming in life to be a 'top lad' won't do you much good

I'm so unaware of the stereotype "lad"... Just because someone is promiscuous and willing to be centre of attention at any cost doesn't necessarily mean that they're a lad. It's called not giving a **** what other people think.

Let's see then, why do guys do these 5 things?

    1. Binning pints - Why the **** not? It's good fun and a bit of competitiveness between the boys. I'm sure I'll "bin" a few pints myself this weekend.

    2. exposing genetalia and getting naked in public places - I dare say this only occurs after many pints have been "binned", ergo, they do it for a laugh when they're drunk.

    3. Throwing up after copious alcohol consumption - A side-effect of all these pints that have been "binned"

    4. Spousal abuse - No excuse for this. I've no idea why anyone would abuse a partner and condemn those who do.

    5. Getting kicked out of pubs/clubs - After all this "binning" people tend to get boistrous and act like *****
