    Prefer - Ford (Fiesta)
    VW - (Up, Polo)
    Toyota (Yaris.. I don't know why)

    What features in the car are important to you?
    Nothing in particular. The thing that worries me the most is reliability. I've heard too many horror stories where people spend thousands on repairing a car hence the reason I decided on a higher budget.
    What gearbox do you want?
    Manual
    Are aesthetics of the car important?
    Yes
    Special requirements?
    As mentioned before, reliable and/ or cheap to repair.
    What is the minimum fuel consumption you require?

    I would look for a Suzuki Swift instead of a Toyota Yaris if I'm buying a car used. You get more car for your money and equally durability and reliability.

    The Fiesta is a good choice too though I doubt 5k will buy you an early version of the current generation, not one worth buying at least.

    Thanks I hadn't even considered a Swift so I'll take look at them. So for I've found a few fiestas. Not the new facelift model but the 2002-2008 versions. Most of them have been a 2008 1.25 fiesta zetec or style with under 40000 miles on the clock. I haven't been to view any yet but I hope to this weekend.
