Why is misogyny more acceptable than racism? Watch

I recently posted a poll asking "Where would you rather live, Las Vegas or Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)?".

Rather disconcertingly, many people (currently 41%) have actually selected Riyadh.

Somehow I really doubt so many people would choose a country where black people weren't allowed to drive, had to cover themselves in veils, were only allowed them to go outside if escorted by someone not black, and would be laughed at if they went to the police after receiving sexual abuse. Somehow I think everyone on this site would unite in hating a country that did that, and anyone who disagreed would be dismissed as a crack-pot Nazi.

But Saudi Arabia does exactly this, instead not to a race, but to anyone who happens to be born with a vulva. Why is this more acceptable? How is this kind of disgusting discrimination and segregation ever considered "politically correct" to sympathize with?

Las Vegas is a tacky awful place, so I would much rather go to Riyadh, which with its http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationa...f_Saudi_Arabia seems a less disgustingly ostentatious and avarious place as well as more cultured city.

Possessing the largest university for women in the world http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princes...man_University. Riyadh is hardly misogynistic. Maybe women are not able to get to the top there on their aesthetic features as so many do in the Western world but that is hardly the most pressing of concerns.

I also notice that your profile picture is one of a scantily clad woman, no one likes a white knight they are dull and there is nothing worse than a hypocritical white knight.

True, I was gonna add that, but I thought I'd go for one horrific treatment of a demographic at a time.

How does that make me a 'hypocrite'? I think she's a really gorgeous woman, how is that problematic? She wants to be looked at and I like looking at her. Women are allowed to be sexy in this country. Deal with it. Don't start pretending you are on the side of the feminists which you don't remotely understand anyway.

Are you implying that women outside of the Islamic world only manage to get to the top on their aesthetic features? Also, please don't refer to everywhere which isn't Islamic as the 'west'. Many countries, East and West, find the way women are treated in Islamic countries to be disgraceful.

And cool, they have a big university for women. In most sane countries they don't need universities for women though, as they are allowed to go to the same ones men do.

Misogyny is more acceptable than racism because it doesn't as much involve singling people out. This is because when being racist you're attacking a very small minority of people either in the entire population or a very small discussion. whereas when being misognystic you are attacking 50% of people so it doesn't appear to be as cruel because the women don't seem defenceless as there are many of them compared to a single race

May i ask how you know they 'exactly' do this? All those things you mentioned, you clearly have no evidence to fully back this up (maybe women not driving... but appantly they can now?). Your pretty thick making the other bs up... Women do not need someone to go with them when going outside; I have seen a lady wear no headscarf at riyadh and as it is an islamic country then its obvious they will need to wear a veil; police are in that Asian culture where men dont treat women with respect its not just Arabia. Its pretty annoying people making asssumptions without actually going there.

I am not on the side of feminists and neither are you. You are talking about a culture you do comprehend and to be honest are being patronising to women ignoring the fact that many choose to wear the clothes they do in Islamic countries. You are hoping if you say so many obsequious things someone will have sexual intercourse with you. Pretty grim.

You asked where people would want to live not which one is a better society as a whole. I have a penis, I can drive in either, I am not required to cover myself in a veil in either, and I don't need to be escorted in either.

It's pretty annoying when people make up complete rubbish and then accuse others of being 'thick'.

Women must show the signed permission from a mahram (close male relative—husband, son or grandson) before she is free to travel, even inside Saudi Arabia.[96] However, out of necessity most women leave the house alone and often have contact with unrelated men to shop or conduct business.[97] Women are not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia, although it is tolerated in rural areas.[28]

    1. Its a forum. I can participate. You can not stop me.

    2. And you feel the need to show your hate for Islam and impose you thoughts on everyone. If you don't want to live in Saudi Arabia then don't live there. The same way I don't want to live there nor do I want to live in las vegas. But I don't go around questioning people that why you chose this or that.

3 Like I said give it a rest.
Can you actually answer the question though instead of playing the whole 'holier than thou' role.

Why is misogyny more acceptable than racism?

You can't impose western culture and ideology on Saudi Arabia. I'm going to say to you what you guys say to muslims in general. If you don't like, don't go there. I'm sure your custom won't be missed by them

I agree. Generally I find Islam in most aspects one of the most particularly ridiculous of religions. However, KingBradly posts screams a quiet desperation that is even more laughable.
    LOL
