I was offered a year placement with a really good company, was so happy when it was offered and I accepted it.

However it's now been nearly 2 months since I started the job and it's not really lived up to my expectations. Before I started the job I was told I would be given a handover by the intern that was leaving the job, this hand over was supposed to be 2 weeks. However, the intern left the day I started. My manager then promised she would train me. My first week my manager didn't have any time to train me and asked me to wait till she was less busy. I soon found out that my manager only came into work once a week. Because of this I still haven't been trained fully and I am sitting around at home doing nothing a lot instead of working from home. I am starting to wonder whether it's worth for me to take a year out now if I am not going to be doing anything in that year?
