I recently got offered a work placement at a hospital in London. (I just finished Year 11) On the application form, it states how long I intend on doing my work placement for. Is 1 week sufficient? If anybody has any experience or advice, it would be much appreciated.

1 week probably won't cut it with most medical schools.
That being said, you can have as long as you want but if you can't show you've learned anything then it's all for naught. Quality over quantity.

What matters is what you get out of the experience and how you reflect upon it in your personal statement. One week is sufficient if that's what's available to you, but if you're interested in seeing more, then go for it. But if you have two weeks work experience, you won't be more likely to get an offer compared to someone who has one week - that's not how it works.

Unfortunately, I just got an email back stating that my placement only lasts for a week. The time period is the same for work experience placement in the hospital that my dad works at. However, you're right. I have to utilize the time that I have. Thank you

Thank you for making that clear.
