I was reading the post on Clearing experiences, and saw that someone's experience could be the same as the one I am preparing for. I haven't been able to find the exact match so far. I think the person had a firm and insurance choice to start, didn't get entry into your firm, but their insurance had accepted them, however they were still able to go into clearing? Is this possible, anyone know or have experience?
Reason for asking is, I don't particularly want to go to my insurance choice, I'd rather move further away and live in halls. I would keep my insurance choice as a last resort, only if it means I can still find other options via clearing. If it meant that I would not have the option to go through clearing, I'd probably end up removing my insurance choice if they agree and take the risk for just clearing.
If you do see this, thank you so much for your time and help, it would be very much appreciated!

You can ask your insurance choice to release you now or on results day, but they don't have an obligation to do so. Either way, you won't be able to keep your insurance as a backup whilst you go through clearing.
