Why do pro-palestinian supporters always end up being violent?

I've noticed that most riots in the Middle East tend to have someone at the front in a Manchester United shirt.

The middle east is littered with plastic fans of european teams they've never seen. The number of 'madridistas' from Pakistan on twitter is obscene

Because its the palestinians who are dying in their 100s.
Isrealis are not going to start a riot because america only sold them 50 f16s instead of 100 are they ?

So why riot in France?

Plastic fans ? they probably watch more games than you do and just because they cant attend the matches doesnt make them fake. You wouldnt say the same about US based fans where british football teams try desperately to get fans. Hardly anyone in Pakistan cares about football, ive seen tons of madrid and barca fans in the middle east uae/algeria but pakistan inst in the middle east.

So what you're saying is that left wing 'Pierre' from suburban Paris and Ahmed who was born in France but whose parents are from Morocco - are justified in smashing up France because some people are dying in a conflict a couple of thousand miles away that has nothing to do with France?

What if pro-Israelis in France smashed up the place because of the three boys kidnapped and murdered?

I find it hard to talk to someone who puts words in my mouth. 3 boys kidnapped by non state actors is not the same as 300 civilians killed by governments supported by france. The riots are nothing compared to anti vietnam war protests in London and france, those riots nearly brought the french govt.

but you think people who dont have white skin are second class so most be viewed separately to riots started by whites in the past.

Buying a shirt doesn't make you a fan. Going to the games makes you a fan. And I have every ounce of respect for the people who support the sounders/red bulls etc in the US

Because a large part of the population of France is French only in name?

:colonhash:

This reminds me of the aphorism attributed to Zhou Enlai, one time PRC Premier who when asked his opinion on the French Revolution responded that it was "too soon to say". I think the years following his death have allowed ample time for the formation of an opinion on the matter.

french is a nationality, anyone who immigrates to france legally is as french as someone who has been there for 4 generations.

going to games doesnt make you a fan, all thoose people who get free corporate tickets and dont even come back after half time are not fans.
I meant british teams like Man U who go to America.
Following a team makes you a fan, thats all. We dont live in a world where only some people have the powr to give others labels

I said, "in name", as you say "legally". By "somebody who has been there for 4 generations" do you mean an octogenarian or somebody with 4 generations of ancestors in the country? Just how much more French is the fifth generation/a 90+ year old?

The issue here is that many don't believe that to be the case and actually judge ancestry more than what passport they happen to have.

For example, I am sure tat there would be a large amount of French people that would consider the child of 2 white French expats living in Australia (who has never stepped for in France) who speaks French, has a French name and follows French traditions to be more French than an immigrant from Ghana, Japan, Cuba (countries picked at random), who just happens to qualify for a French passport.
I went to a Pro-Palestine protest, yesterday, in London. It was peaceful. You shouldn't stereotype all Pro-Palestinans just because a few were extreme. :/
yep i went to a few pro palestinian protests in london, all of them were peaceful, quite a few jews joined up amongst muslims against zionism as well. no trouble there.

OPs question 'how can they always be so violent' made me actually chuckle. grow the **** up.

Well those people are bigots. The child of the two white french people would be australian. In 40 years time if the french boy returned to france he would know less about france its people, society and haveless roots, friends, home, children and family in that country, than the french boy would ghanaian parents.

In name,in culture,in blood in everything they are 110% french. They all french, even if someone is half german half french, if they only claim the french part become 100% french.

Shame you didn't think it appropriate to denounce Hamas too.

See above.
The word 'always' is misused here.

This is the one that I attended in Leeds, from start to finish. No violence took place we merely chanted slogans, talked and listened to calls from phones from Palestine.

I wonder what kind of slogans? same as the "peaceful" ones in Berlin calling for Jewish pigs to be slaughtered?

No, not those slogans. But, yes I can see those as definitely violent slogans and would condemn those particular protesters. Friends and talked about the slogans and they were all the same at the different protests we attended, this is because the one's in the UK are organised by Stop the War Coalition and PSC (Palestine Solidarity Campaign).

"Free free Palestine"
"123 occupation no more"
"456 Israel is a terrorist state" (although I would contest with this one and say Hamas are also terrorists, but nontheless I agree Israel is also a terrorist state)
"Something about here from the sea, Palestine shall be free" (paraphrasing)
"BBC, propaganda TV"

Those are the ones I can recall, I can assure you that I would have left immediately if any hateful slogans were shouted. The only one I contested with was the 'long live Palestine' (as I am an anarchist and not too interested the idea of states existing for long).

Regardless I can firmly say the UK ones have been peaceful.
