I think the title says it all; how did you react?

"I'll expose you, you little *****." And then a death threat followed.

Looong story. This client wanted to meet my friend but he seemed like a dodgy waste of time so I said no. After being harassed for hours on end, he threatened to stalk me, rape me, and expose me/my friend. It all started in phone calls and then when I turned our phone (work phone) off he started sending the same bs via email. I got so freaked out, I couldn't leave my house for 6/7 weeks.

Oh my goodness, I hope you're okay?!
Did you report him or anything?

Yeah, this happened a year ago so it all blew over within a few months. (The same thing started again about 2 or 3 months after it happened the first time.)

Didn't report him. Reporting him would mean exposing my friend (who is a call girl - that guy was a potential client) and we couldn't let that happen.

Many. I don't really pay much more attention if I get a reply that makes me cross - and if it is a chain of emails regarding a specific task or project I suddenly 'forget' and this results in a face to face conversation. Much more civilised.

That said, my standard "bugger off" reply is simply "Noted."

You have no idea. I downplayed it A LOT just like I did for my friend when I told her. She still doesn't know the full story. I was babysitting my nephew when it first happened and it just freaked me out so bad, I was ****ting myself thinking of all the ways that guy could find us.

 That's kind of my fault. I get bored of life easily and bring this kind of stuff on myself.

Never. I know specific details about him and I think I remember what he looked like in a picture so if I tried hard enough I could probably find him.

At least you're not spent your whole life wasting away waiting for something exciting to happen.

Tbf i'd be paranoid af, be going out with a nail file in my pocket. Out of curiosity, what made your friend turn to call girl-ing?

Various emails from the litigants in person calling me a see you next Tuesday/worst kind of human being/saying they'd deck me at the tribunal blah blah blah.

Everyone I worked with was lovely though.

Haha, I was paranoid like that! I started learning to fight and looking into appropriate weaponry or every day items I could use as weapons. Learning to get of my house alone was really difficult. The first time I went out alone was my first day of uni and I was ****ting myself. It was all in my mind so it is really funny in hindsight.

A lot of things pushed her toward it. She couldn't handle a break up, her home life was a mess, her psychological state was even worse. Her mind was all over the place and, well, in my opinion her work makes her feel appreciated. She constantly complains about her family putting her down and how it's rare for someone to show that they like her/appreciate her presence in their life so I think being with so many random guys gives her that feeling of being wanted and almost needed. It's almost like a necessary high giving her the will to get out of bed every day.
