I'm a well educated person, currently doing an English literature degree, but feel increasingly uninformed and ignorant during conversations with other students at uni who are joking around/voicing their views when the topic of British politics comes up. I read the newspaper regularly but just can't seem to get a real grasp of what each of the main parties stand for, or keep up to date with the latest issues. Any advice on particular books/websites/magazines etc to read would be greatly appreciated, or any other advice on how I can go about shaping a well rounded political viewpoint.
