    I'm studying... History

    I'm interested in... Teaching

I'm thinking about... Hi there. I am looking to become a History Teacher I have a MA in History and a BA in Ancient History. I was wondering what is more competitive PGCEs or School Direct? I know the government is massively expanding School Direct and cutting PGCEs so I was thinking of applying via School Direct, as well as the fact I don't want to go back to uni fully (left 3 years ago). How much observational experience do you need before you apply for School Direct?

I have 2 weeks experience in a state school, which was done recently. I am concerned who have to become a TA, which I cannot financially afford to do.
