    It depends of course. They have more experience, but there are also generation-specific problems which they might have no experience of. They might also have a personality that prevents them from knowing best in a lot of cases, for example if they are controlling. No one is right 100% of the time, but in general parental advice is worth listening to I think.

    No, I believe my parents know best, at least for me. I've seen some terrible parenting.

    Maybe some parents, but not mine.

    When it comes to opening a business, buying a house, or getting you out jail/trouble with the law then my parents do know best. When it comes to them having to do actual parenting and being rational people toward their kids/our choices, they're useless. They've never had to play parent with me and my siblings because they were always at work while we grew up so we brought ourselves up (my siblings brought me up until I became a teenager) and learnt to be our own parents.
