    Israel received a strong back-wind from an unlikely source on Tuesday, when the EU issued a statement strongly denouncing Hamas and condemning their use of civilians as human shields.

    The EU's foreign ministers, following a monthly meeting in Brussels, issued a statement on the Middle East condemning “the indiscriminate firing of rockets into Israel by Hamas and militant groups in the Gaza Strip, directly harming civilians. These are criminal and unjustifiable acts.”

    The statement also called on Hamas to immediately put an end to its rocket attacks, and to renounce violence. “All terrorist groups in Gaza must disarm. The EU strongly condemns calls on the civilian population of Gaza to provide themselves as human shields.
    I won't start any more threads on this subject for a bit, just thought this was worth it. Didn't want it getting lost in amongst left wing and Islamic apologist for Hamas posts

    Make no mistake, for the EU this is very strong wording against Hamas.

    Don't be silly. Those defending themselves are never denounced in equal measure as the attackers.

    And the 'civilian' death toll is a bit suspect, given that Hamas has a history of lying about casualties (including lying to the UN) and has recently released 'instructions' to 'palestinians' that every death must be described to the media as an "innocent civilian"

    Hamas Interior Ministry To Social Media Activists: Always Call The Dead 'Innocent Civilians';

    "Anyone killed or martyred is to be called a civilian from Gaza or Palestine, before we talk about his status in jihad or his military rank. Don't forget to always add 'innocent civilian' or 'innocent citizen' in your description of those killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza.

    What about the man who lives down the road whose dog poops on the paths and he doesn't pick it up? He's scum.

    Why mention Israel when we're talking about the truly evil Hamas?

    This is great news. As much as it's unexceptionable that civilians die in Gaza, I don't understand what people want from Israel. Stop shelling? You mean allow people to fire rockets? Ok and then what? Oh wait these anti-Semitism Zionist conspiracy theorists have no solution at all.
