I have been awarded a tuition fee only scholarship from external body and at the same time, I have been awarded the Imperial Master Scheme (tuition fee+ stipend). However, the imperial master scheme says that;if you already hold a scholarship, you are not entitle for this. I was wondering if I'm still entitle for the stipend since I only hold tuition fee scholarship. And I do not have any money for living neither parent to support me.

Why don't you just decline the external funding since the MSS already covers tuition?

Hey, congratulations on your award, i am also trying to get into an imperial masters scheme, can you PM me or discuss here? How did you get an external funding? What body funded it? Because the fee is £29,000.

    Thanks

Unfortunately, to be eligible for the master's support scheme (and other postgrad awards funded by HEFCE) you need to be a UK resident who would otherwise pay 'home fees'. The fees you quoted are for 'overseas' students who sadly aren't eligible for this award.

Haha no no, i am a home student, Uk resident everything. I have just looked at it again and its £29,000 for masters in finance at imperial; they also stated the fees are the same for home and international students.

So how did you get your funding?? im guessing the price differs by course

Ah ok, finance is a whole other kettle of fish. Afraid the master's support scheme is only for natural science, medicine and engineering courses. Many of these are £9k home fees and £29k for overseas, which is what I thought you were talking about.

I don't have a clue what funding's available for finance courses, but good luck finding it... especially with those fees!

I've just got this award too! What course are you going to study?! If enquire about it but take the money from imperial if it's more than what you'll be getting from the external body
