Hi, I have just been accepted into a Uni in South West London (Roehampton) but I actually really want to live in East London.
Just wondered if it's common/affordable for students to commute like this?

    Thanks for your help,

Yes, I used to commute from North London to East London.

Edit: Just checked, the station is Barnes which is served by South West Trains. No, they're completely unreliable so you're better off living on campus or close to the uni.

Amazing Londoner insider info, thank you.
I'm going to look into living in halls although I'm just concerned about the reputation Roehampton has of being a rough place.

From my experience, Barnes is not that bad of a place.
