Hi I just got off the phone from my uni and student finance.

I am retaking modules that i failed this year.
if i get a part time loan i will not be able to attend.

I've called student finance and they say if the uni classes it as a full time course then it is so.

the uni said they don't know.

everyone seems to be trying to avoid giving me answers.

does anyone here know how being a full time/ part time student is calculated?

I think you've posted this in the wrong subforum? This is for people perusing a career in teaching or education.

I'm sorry I can't help with your question

    Student Finance are right.

The university must know because their funding depends on it and they also have to return statistics split between full and part-time. You just haven't found the person at the university who is the guardian of this secret yet. Try finance rather than admissions.

It's to do with the amount of credits you're doing. To be classed as full time, it's 120 credits.
