Hey guys, I start college in september, BTEC Level 3 extended diploma in health and social care.

My girlfriend and i have a holiday booked thursday 11th september untill thursday 18th sept..(7 days)

College starts monday 8th september, so i'll be able to attend, monday, tuesday and wednesday but then away the next 7 days.

I am trying my best to get the holiday dates changed to the end of august, but not very optimistic i'll be able to do this.

I'm now worried that if i was to go on holiday, which is nearly all paid for, my place will be removed from the course.

Does anybody have any experiences or know of anyone that has missed a week or so at the start of a study year and tutors etc have been all right with this, and allowed them to catch up on return?

Hiya Yeah my friend went on holiday for 2 weeks on results day in 2012 and missed a full week (the first week) of Sixth Form, and they was absolutely fine with it , just let them know beforehand. It's probably better to miss the start of term rather than go away right in the middle of term, when the work will be in full swing. Probably easier to recover from missing the first week or two.

Edited - it's probably also worth adding that she was doing 4 different subjects, so if anything it's more likely they'd be funny with her than you just doing the 1 so you should be fine . Have a good holiday
