I've been looking for a free website builder to build my first website ever.

I don't want those free website builder adverts on the sides of my site when it goes live.

Spent an hour looking for a decent one but no luck.

Only one I saw was ucoz but it's very very hard for my to navigate.

Actually, all popular free web site builder offer an option of buying a domain without their ads and without the name of site-builder in the URL. Just check the one that you like most and then buy a placement

It's better going with wordpress, more seo options and theme customization.

I agree ronmack, if you want your blog to be SEO friendly you might consider a hosted wordpress site with SEO features.

I'd suggest just making it yourself. You're not really building your first website if you're using a website builder.

Stick to the client side stuff for now and run it off your local machine. Start simple.

Get the doctype, html tags, head and body first. Get a CSS file going and link it. Work from them little by little.

Very true, you should totally get into developing yourself. I went from knowing nothing but old HTML to mastering HTML 5, CSS and the basics of PHP in just a few months :P

I highly suggest not using a website builder, free or not.
