What should i do?

I exercise 4 times a week and Im trying to bulk. Ive been going to the gym for around 2 months now. After a month of joining the gym, I ate what my coach told me to, 6 times a day and each meal should have certain types of food etc etc.
But I felt that I didnt have enough time to burn enough calories than the amount of calories I consumed. So I ended up putting more weight and I lost the shape of my abs. So i stopped eating the diet I was supposed to and started to tone (I dont know what the right term is). I now weigh 72 kgs

Now im thinking what should I do, bulk or tone. So im just exercising for fitness though I do want to bulk up. When i go on the threadmill before the weights session, my coach says just walk on the threadmill for 10 mins and that way I wont be burning my carbs. Another guy whos supposed to be a martial art champion says I should "run" on the threadmill for 20 mins atleast. I know running for 20 mins will make me burn carbs which im not supposed to if i want to bulk up. Who should I listen to?

And how can i organise myself to bulk up again? I have read loads of threads and researched a lot online. Currently I started to go to the gym 5 times a week. I do minimum of 4 types of exercises for bigger muscles and 3 types of exercises for smaller muscles. Im not lifting very heavy weight. I eat 3 times a day and all healthy food. My diet has more carbohydrate than proteins

Now how should I organise myself?

Try losing most of the fat first that you've got through cardiovascular exercises (running/swimming are the most effective), then head to the gym for the building and massing of muscles. I find results most promising and obvious that way.

You could clean bulk, which does take longer....
Have a heavy intake of protein per day.
Lift rep's of 6-8, ussually sets of 3-4.
Lift as heavy as you can go.
Go running/swimming a few times a week, doin high intensity interval training.
This should maintain ya ab's whilest slowly gaining muscle without the fat...
