    Hi guys,
I am an incoming UCL student and I don't know much about the way you get to pick your subjects (if there is one). My major is Politics and East European Studies. As part of the course, I will be required to study one language from the region. Together with that, I'd love to continue with German, which obviously is from the region. My question is - is it even possible to choose extra subjects outside not in your course?

    Cheers.

Thanks, it appears I missed that bit. That brings me to the question - how does it acutally work with the credit system in the UK? I can see that UCL requires me to have 4 credits per year. Does that mean that I can choose more subjects in some semesters than in others? Or, if I really want to push it, can I potentially end earlier?

Not sure what you're asking. All of your modules will either be worth 1 or 0.5 credits. If you do a lot of 0.5 modules then you will cover more subjects, but the workload will be the same. You don't have the option to study more modules and finish early, this isn't America.

Hehe, I'm not American. Just getting a little confused from the loads of information coming my way recently. Thanks!
