How can you tell if you're balding?

I recently cut my hair shorter than i usually have it and now it looks like it's thinner, but i'm not sure if it actually is...so my question is, what is a sure way of finding out whether or not i'm balding?

If you're balding, your hair will start to recede from the front.

I wouldn't worry about your hair being thin, just use some hair thickening shampoo or hair products.
