I will be applying for Biomedical Science at Queen Mary university this year and I have a question about my GCSE results and whether it will have any effect on entry.
During my GCSE exams, I was having problems in school which possessed me to drop out of school and leave with only a GCSE in English (C), Maths (B) and ICT (Pass). I then got back into education after a year to study a BTEC Level 2 in Applied Science to then further progress onto a Level 3 in Medical Science, which I am currently studying.
The question I wanted to ask is whether this gap in education and me leaving school from personal problems will have any affect on my application. However, the grades I am currently predicted at are D*D*D* and my grades for first year were D*D* which meets the criteria for the course. The problems I was facing at school have not been an issue for me since then and I will never come across this problem again. It was a highly stressful moment for me and when I look back at it now, I wish it didn't happen and I would have completed all my GCSE's.
Have you done any of these?
