I'm resitting one of my 2nd year (Glasgow uni Engineering) modules. I got an E so technically I don't have to do the resit but my advisor said it would be a good idea as I want to go on to apply for medicine. However, what if I go into the exam and get an F? Will that be taken as my grade (meaning I have to resit the year) or will they pretend it never happened (unlikely)? Will my grade stay at an E but an F appear on my transcript?

I can shed some light on this, I made a balls-up of my first year exams a few years back. Like yourself I got an E1 I think it was on Thermo & Fluid mechanics, I did the resit, got an E3, and all it said on mycampus was:

    Course Result: E1
    Resit Taken, Resit Grade: E3

So it takes the better of the 2 results, no harm in resitting at all!

    Cheers!
