I have friends who have recently graduated and their starting salary for their graduate scheme varies a lot. The lowest one I know of earns £18k and the highest is £50k.

I know opinions will vary from person to person. But I am curious to know... when living in London... How much do you have to earn to live a satisfactory life style?

My internship is £16,000 for the year, but ideally in my next job I want to be on around at least £22k as I am hoping to relocate to London.

    I would say £25k to £50k

I suppose it is relative to your view of the term "satisfactory".

One person's view of being "satisfactory" could be another's "extravagant" or "luxurious".
Either way, I think a teacher (which I hope to be) will earn me slightly more than a satisfactory life style, HOWEVER, I probably wouldn't spend the excess money i earn and knowing me, would simply sit in my account gathering dust...

Sure, I might buy the odd DVD box set (i.e. Game of Thrones) but nothing really extravagant like a watch every other week or a pair of designer sunglasses etc...

I just prefer nights out with my friends.
I am kept happy very cheaply so long as others want to spend time with me. =)

    EDIT:
But, in London, I would say a minimum of 25k to get you by.
