I guess this will be a question for current students. Do you have one? Do you actually use it? Is it worth it or do you get on just fine with the UCAS card?

    Thanks!

I use mine a lot in shops for 10% (sometimes 20%) discount. But I got mine for free with Lloyd's student account.

Most places accept your Student ID card as well as a NUS card so I would say it's a waste of money.

Unidays is a site that also gives you student discount to loads of online shopping sites and it's free to sign up and use.

That's why I have mine. I wasn't going to bother with a student account until I saw Lloyds offering the card. I'm grateful that I have it and I'm sure I've saved quite a bit in the long run, but I wouldn't have bought it.

I got my card free with a student account but even if I didnt it'd have still been worth me buying one. co-op give you 10% off with NUS Extra so if you buy alcohol from there you'll likely make your money back before the end of the year. NUS Extra also gets you freebies in Mcdonalds that you can't get with just a student card.

Mines worth it. Used to get 10% off at Co Op and 10% off at Asos/Amazon

Already paid for itself RE: the amazon order (£70- £80 toothbrush)

Got 10% off some £90 shoes as well

    Not bad

Ah OK, so sounds like it might possibly be worth it, then. The problem I think I'll have more than anything is remembering to use it! I'm going to school in London and there seems to be lots of places there that have it. Plus you can get half price Spotify with it, which I use anyway, so will instantly pay for itself in that regard.

    Thanks for everyone's replies!
