Hello people, I'm considering changing my bank account from Natwest. This week, I got a job and the wage is shockingly good for a 16 year old (£5.05, then £6.35 after 3 weeks) I'm doing full time in summer and weekends when college starts. So good times ahead!
I currently bank with Natwest and I won't lie, there's no faults with them for me. Good service, trustworthy, reliable and fair. But I'm just wondering if, as a young student, whether there are better options? I'm sure you guys know more about me so I'd just like some advice on what banks are good. And if I do decide, what's the process? Will I have to close my NTwest one? My family banks with Natwest so I decided to get one back in 2008 but I'm wondering if there are different options. Thanks.

No need to close your account with Natwest. I have accounts with about 5 different banks!

Unfortunately with interest rates so low at the moment there's not much difference between the current accounts. Just go with whoever is more convenient.
