Giving Cambridge AS and A2 in one year Watch

    • Thread Starter

My CIE AS exam is two months from now but i am thinking of not registering because my prep for all of the 4 subjects i have taken is very bad ! I am planning to give both AS and A2 in 2015, giving AS in the upcoming may/june session and A2 in the oct session. Will my AS and A2 outcome be better with this strategy or is this a really bad idea?

The problem here is that the university won't have any concrete results from this year to know how you're doing. With Cambridge specifically, they'd see a year gap and so may still view these as resits - although you didn't sit the exams, you could have and chose not to (unless you have any extenuating circumstances).

Really, though, no-one can give you a proper answer. I suggest you e-mail the admissions department of your ideal college and ask their thoughts. On a more general note, you need to ask yourself why you feel so unprepared and what you can do differently to make sure this doesn't happen again (studying for AS exams in an A2 year will be a pretty hefty workload compared to this year).
