SAAS Reference number- How do you get it?

The form was filled in and saved. When it was checked and I wanted to go to "next step" the computer blanked.
Now I can enter the page with my dates, but cannot change anything, it keeps telling me it I can't do that online because I haven't got a reference number.
I mailed SAAS to ask if they had got all the details since I wasn't sure because of the computer blanking plus I faxed the filled in forms but haven't heard from them yet.
Do you know anything about this ominous reference number and how you come by it?

Just for information: it has finally worked. Maybe something with the computer or the programm had gone wrong. Anyway I could proceed after about the 30. try and have now got the "reference number"
