    Hi,

I have just completed a foundation year at Cardiff Met. I did not enjoy it at all and found it extremely difficult, though I did pass most of the modules. I was initially going to leave in January but thought I should give it my all and try to complete the year which I did. However, having had a long think about it and consulting family and friends, I think its best if I leave as I don't think that the particular course is for me (It was a Science based course). I have come to realise I should have stuck to what I was good at which is IT/Business.

My question is, how am I to go about withdrawing from my course/university? I have looked on the website but have not found any type of withdraw link or how to do so. However I did find a withdrawal form on google but am not sure if this is an older post or not.

If anyone has had experience with this particular uni/or similar situation could you give me some advice?

    Thanks!

Talk to your personal tutor about this - this is what they're here for. Also, maybe you should consider transferring universities or changing courses?

Thank you for the response. I will do that. I did not think it would be possible to transfer or change courses as I do not have the required grades (mainly Math grades, even though I have re taken 4 times). Would I need to apply or just ask my tutor if its possible to change courses to better suit?

You'll need to ask your tutor and the admissions officer for the subject/department you wish to transfer to. If you don't have the grades then they might consider the foundation year to be enough but I'd say don't get your hopes up.

Thank you for the advice. I will try but I'm not counting too much on it as I already know I do not have the required Maths grade for IT at the current uni I am in. I am considering studying computing and IT with the open uni, does anyone have experience with that uni?
