The Student Room Group

Sick of guys moaning that they can't get female attention at the club!

Fact: People who refer to songs as 'anthems' are 100% more likely to be complete and total tossers.

Clubs that play nothing but 'anthems' suck. Reminds me of rock bars. Can't stand them. They play nothing but 'indie anthem' after 'indie anthem'. Sort of places that play 'I Bet You Look a Good On The Dancefloor' and then 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and then 'Take Me Out'. Every student bar ever

Don't get me started on 'rock bar slappers'. Sort of women with arms that look like Sailor Jerry packaging

I could use this post to explain why I'm not a loser but life is too short for that.

I'll just stick to listening to my dance anthems

I understand where you're coming from for most of your post. But some of us actually like the music they play there! Electronic dance anthems all the way!
...music...so that's what they're calling it...

Get real and listen to The Dark Side of the Moon. That's music. Looped drum machines and the repetitive cacophonous caterwauling of various MIDI instruments isn't. It's like saying that McDonald's serve food.

Music snobs are the worst. And yes, I lesson to Pink Floyd too, but all music I listen to simply because I like the sound of it, it's so pathetic to act all superior over it.

I like listening to a lot of music for its own sake, but I'd never go to a place just because of the music. Unless it was a live band that I liked a lot, or was associated with on some way, like being friends with a member.

I mean, seriously. Come to Blackpool, our McDonald's is well ace.

If you're going to make music & food comparisons then here's one for you.
If I go to a restaurant which serves the best sushi ever I'm still not going to order it as I dislike raw fish. I'll have an alternative dish even if the quality may be lower in someone else's opinion.
It's the same with music; I'm not going listen to Pink Floyd no matter if they're top of their genre or not as I don't particularly like the genre/style. I can appreciate that they are good but not for me!
I'll stick to something more suited to my tastes :-).

I don't see how you can hate from outside of the club, you can't even get in!

LEGGO.
Clubs serve a purpose, they're designed to be an extremely conducive enviroment to convert flirting into physical contact, and they do that extremely efficiently in my experience.

If you are flirting with a girl and you want to escalate the situation towards sex, then dancing with her in a club is a good way to get things moving.

People who criticise clubs because the music is predictable, the drinks are expensive and its impossible to hold a conversation are missing the point. Its like criticising fishing rods because they make rubbish tooth picks.

People going to clubs have every right to criticise those things. There are clubs where I like the music & there are cheap drinks so why can I not complain when a club doesn't have those things? People who only go to pull have no reason to complain about those things but those people might as well just save themselves the bother & spend their money on a cheap hooker.

Woh there, bit misogynist no? Comparing women to cheap hookers?
Clubs are not the place to look for a serious relationship lol

Women might offer sex. Cheap hookers will offer sex. If someone is going out with the sole intention of trying to get sex, rather than spend all the money on getting into a club, buying drinks, paying for taxis, etc. to possibly get sex, they could just use the money to get a hooker & definitely get sex. Don't see how that is misogynistic.

& you could just as easily replace the word hooker with gigolo & I would have no problem with that.

Voluntary sex between two thoroughly enthusiastic participants is in no way comparable to the seedy and exploitative underworld of illegal prostitution.
Legit. Only guys who get sex at clubs are the 8/10 guys and they too have to settle with women several points below them.
The only way to consistently pull in clubs if you're not good looking is to be a promoter, a nightclub owner, a bouncer or the guy in the VIP section paying for bottle service. In that case you will pull regularly and consistently. If you're not 8+/10 or any of the above and still go clubbing then LOL.

What a load of rubbish. Every bloke I know can pull perfectly attractive women in nightclubs and they're neither incredibly good looking or any of those other ridiculous things you suggest.

You need to stop being so bitter and get out there and learn how to socialise properly.

1) Attractive is such a vague word
2) What nightclubs? Not all clubs are created equal. There are many different types of nightclub.
3) Race, height, physique, clothes, etc are all factors.
4) We are all unique. Not all people will be able to shine in a noisy club environment. Some prefer beer bars, jazz bars, rock bars or even gigs.
5) The word 'bloke' just makes me cringe.
6) The guy has a point as he expresses the importance of 1st impressions and image in this sort of environment. Guys who aren't considered to be lookers might struggle as the club really isn't the place to talk.

Did you read my post? The reasons why clubs aren't the best place to socialise?

You need to stop being so judgemental.

Clubs are terrible places to socialise, so don't go there to socialise, that's what the pubs and bars are for that you go to beforehand. They're great places for escalation, that's what they're designed for.
